Body Ready Method®
THE GOLD STANDARD
IN PHYSICAL BIRTH PREPARATION
You prepare your mind for birth. You choose your provider. You learn about labor. But what about preparing the body that will actually give birth?
Pregnancy and birth are profoundly physical experiences. Your pelvis, pelvic floor, core, muscles, breath, movement patterns and nervous system all participate.
Body Ready Method® brings these pieces together through an evidence-informed approach to physical birth preparation.
It's not simply about learning more exercises or memorizing labor positions. It's about understanding how your body works so you can move with purpose.
Learn Why BRM® Is Different ↓
What Is Body Ready Method®?
Body Ready Method® is a comprehensive approach to preparing the body for pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum recovery.
BRM® brings together:
Birth Biomechanics • Pelvic Mobility • Functional Strength • Core & Pelvic Floor Function • Movement • Birth Positioning • Body Awareness • Partner Support
Instead of treating these as separate pieces, BRM® looks at how they work together.
The goal is not a “perfect” body.
The goal is a body with options, awareness and adaptability.
Why Does BRM® Set the Standard?
It teaches the WHY — not just the WHAT.
Many childbirth classes teach labor positions:
Hands and knees. Side lying. Squatting. Lunging. Birth ball.
BRM® goes one step further:
Why might we choose that position?
Baby navigates through different levels of the pelvis during birth. Different movements and positions can influence the space available within those different areas.
Instead of randomly changing positions, we can begin making more intentional choices based on what may be happening during labor.
Movement becomes a tool — not just an activity.
The Why

Your pelvis isn't a rigid passageway.
It moves.
Your sacrum moves. Your hips move. Your legs influence your pelvis. Your surrounding muscles and soft tissues matter too.
And baby must rotate, descend and navigate through different levels of the pelvis during birth.
Understanding these relationships gives you something incredibly valuable: More options!

Birth is a whole-body experience.
Your breath, core, pelvis, pelvic floor, hips, legs and feet don't work independently — they influence one another.
BRM® looks at these relationships as a connected system, helping you develop the movement, strength, mobility and awareness that can support you throughout pregnancy and birth.

Preparing for birth isn't about becoming as flexible as possible.
Your body needs a balance of mobility, stability, strength and relaxation — and what you need may look different from what someone else needs.
Together, these create something even more important:
Adaptability.
Because birth doesn't require perfection.
It requires the ability to respond.

Your pelvic floor needs more than strength.
It needs the ability to contract, relax, lengthen and coordinate with your breath, core and movement.
Birth requires all of these abilities working together.
BRM® moves the conversation beyond simply “do your Kegels” and helps us understand the pelvic floor as an important part of the whole-body birth system.

Body Ready Method® isn't about memorizing exercises or collecting a list of labor positions.
It's about understanding why you might use a movement, position, or technique — and having the knowledge to make more intentional choices as labor unfolds.
There is a big difference between:
“Let's try another position.”
and:
“Let's think about what may be happening — and WHY we're changing positions.”
BRM® helps turn movement and positioning into a toolbox with purpose.
And that toolbox isn't just for you.
Your Partner Becomes Part of the Team
Partners often want to help during labor but aren't always sure what to do.
Practicing movement, positioning and hands-on support during pregnancy gives your partner practical ways to participate when labor begins.
Instead of simply watching or waiting for direction, your partner can better understand the tools you've practiced together and become an active, confident part of your birth team.
Who Is BRM® For?
You don't need to be athletic.
You don't need to love exercise.
And you don't need to be planning one particular type of birth.
BRM® principles can support preparation for a first or subsequent birth, hospital birth, birth-center birth, home birth, epidural birth, unmedicated birth or VBAC.
Because every pregnancy is different.
Every body is different.
Every birth is different.
That's exactly why having options matters.
Preparation, Not Promises
BRM® isn't about creating a “perfect” body or guaranteeing a “perfect” birth. Nothing can promise exactly how birth will unfold.
Instead, physical birth preparation gives you something far more useful:
Knowledge • Awareness • Preparation • Adaptability • Options
Because you can't control every part of birth — but you can prepare to meet it with more tools, understanding and confidence.

Why I Consider BRM® the Gold Standard
After everything you've just read, you can probably see why Body Ready Method® has become such an important part of the way I support families.
I consider BRM® the gold standard in physical birth preparation because it brings together what so many approaches address separately — biomechanics, movement, pelvic-floor function, birth positioning, body awareness and partner support — and gives each one purpose.
BRM® doesn't simply teach you what to do. It helps you understand why you might do it.
And to me, that is the difference.
It gives you something I believe every birthing person deserves:
More knowledge. More awareness. More tools. More options.
.
Why This Matters to Me as a Doula.
Being a birth doula means so much more to me than simply being present on the day your baby is born.
I want to help you prepare for that day.
I want you to understand your body, feel confident using the tools you've practiced, and have a partner who feels prepared to actively support you. I want you to walk into your birth feeling informed, supported and connected to the incredible body doing the work.
That's why BRM® fits so naturally into the way I practice as a doula. It gives me another way to educate, prepare and empower the families I have the privilege of supporting.
Because when you understand the “why,” you can make more intentional choices — and that knowledge stays with you no matter how your birth unfolds.
Your Body Is Part of Your Birth Plan
Birth is powerful, personal and unpredictable. You may not be able to control exactly how your birth unfolds — but you can prepare for it.
You can understand your body.
You can practice movement with purpose.
You can give your partner meaningful ways to support you.
And you can enter birth with knowledge, confidence and options.
As your doula, my goal isn't to help you achieve someone else's idea of the “perfect birth.” My goal is to help you feel heard, respected, prepared and supported in your birth.
And if birth takes an unexpected turn?
I'm still there.
That's the heart of doula care for me — and it's why bringing Body Ready Method® into the way I support families means so much to me.
Prepare your mind.
Prepare your body.
Prepare your support team.
Then meet your birth knowing you have options.
Let's prepare together.
